Alex Peters took the step up to the WorldTour in late 2015, riding as a stagiaire for Team Sky before being signed-up full time by the British squad for the 2016 season.

But it’s not all been a straight forward rise for the 22-year-old Londoner to the top level of professional cycling, as he tells us here.

While racing for the SEG Racing Academy team, Peters took a tumble on a straight, flat road in the second stage of the Oberösterreichrundfahrt race in Austria in June of 2015. That crash resulted in a broken collarbone, leaving Peters on the sidelines until the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic in August.

A broken collarbone is a common injury for a professional cyclist, and Peters has already broken both of his already in his short career.
