In every kind of cycling there’s danger of crashing or falling, but in cyclo-cross it almost feels like you’re asking for trouble.
So it’s no wonder that Helen Wyman has too many scars to be able to talk about.

Wyman is on of Britain’s greatest ever cyclo-cross riders, having won the national championships no less than nine times, while she’s also won a bronze medal at the UCI World Championships for cross.
The 34-year-old races for American team Kona Factory when on the muddy circuits, but takes to the roads with the British Matrix Fitness team over the summer.
We caught up with Wyman at the third round of the Matrix Fitness GP Series in Croydon to talk about some of the most memorable incidents and accidents in her career for the fourth installment of ‘Show us your scars’.
But there’s one thing you get from being a professional cyclist than scars, says Wyman, and that’s tan lines. At least they’re temporary.
