The 2017 Tour de France kicks off with a 14-kilometre time trial around the Germany city of Düsseldorf.

Defending champion Chris Froome (Team Sky) will attempt to gain some early time on his general classification rivals, namely Richie Porte (BMC), Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo).
