17-year-old Andrew Fenn powered home alone for victory in the junior version of Paris-Roubaix on Sunday afternoon.
The GB rider attacked his last rival with a kilometre to go to win alone in the velodrome, 12 seconds ahead of Peter Sagan (Slovakia) and 46 seconds ahead of Etienne Fedrigo (France).
Thanks to to Fenn's success in the first round of the Junior Nations Cup, Great Britain also lead the team standings.
?I didn?t even know that I?d won until I crossed the line.? Fenn told Cycling Weekly afterwards.
?There?d been a break ahead and I started moving away from the main bunch with 30 kilometres to go. By the time I made it to the velodrome, I?d got past everybody.?
It was Fenn?s second attempt at Paris-Roubaix. Last year he rode as far the Carrefour D?Arbre before abandoning. Great Britain placed four riders in the top 20, with Erick Rowsell 13th at 1-26, Toby Meadows 15th at 1-29, and George Atkins 19th at 1-33.
