CSC today announced their Tour of Britain team, and will not be bringing Fabian Cancellara. The world time trial champion had been named in CSC?s provisional line-up but will now ride the Tour of Poland instead.
Organisers and fans were hoping that Cancellara would return to the UK to repeat his Tour de France Prologue success around the 2.5 km prologue in Crystal Palace park, South London, on September 9.
Cancellara?s no-show leaves the Tour of Britain field lacking in major continental stars, although CSC will still be hard to beat as they bring Martin Pedersen back to defend his title.
Both CSC and T-Mobile will be on a pedestal during the race, as the two ProTour teams will face a tough challenge from a largely British line-up keen to get one over on two of the biggest teams in the world.
CSC?s six-man line-up is; Lars bak, Juan José Haedo, Martin Pedersen, Matthew Goss, Anders Lund and Luke Roberts.
