Madison Genesis to support Virgin Money Cyclone

The Madison Genesis team today announced its support for this year's Virgin Money Cyclone, which will result in its riders taking part in the events that make the North East's four-day fesival of cycling.

In addition to competing in the Beaumont Trophy Premier Calendar race (June 30) which rounds off the Cyclone weekend, the team's riders will also take part in the Tyne Six Bridges family and beginner ride (June 27) and join 4,000 riders tackling the Cyclone Challenge sportive 48 hours later. Madison will also compete in the Leazes Criterium (June 28), and their riders will also be holding photograph and autograph sessions before the race.

The team's manager Roger Hammond said: "A big part of the Madison Genesis team is about getting out and inspiring people. The Virgin Money Cyclone weekend is a great chance for our riders to race, but also show their support by offering advice and by riding alongside everyday riders. It's about sharing our passion for riding bikes."

Organiser Peter Harrison added: "The Virgin Money Cyclone has always offered something for riders of all types - from the pros right through to beginners and families. Being able to ride alongside our cycling heroes will make the 2013 Cyclone a really special weekend."

Completing the Cyclone bill is the Curlew Cup women's race, which takes place on the same Northumberland-based roads used in the Beaumont Trophy.
