Herne Hill velodrome’s brand new junior track, trackside lighting and multi-use games area will be officially unveiled this afternoon by local MP Dame Tessa Jowell.
Work on the new facilities, part of a long term project to upgrade the 1948 London Olympics venue, has been taking place this spring as part of the Southwark Olympic Legacy Project to extend use of the track, in particular for young people.

Happy Birthday Mildenhall CC!
Mildenhall CC will be holding a reunion on June 23 to provide an opportunity for members past and present to meet and celebrate the club’s 60th birthday.
“It will be a very
informal affair,” said club chairman Mark Burchett. “The main
thing is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can meet and
just have a good catch-up. It’s very clear from the previous reunions
that many people have a special affinity with and for Mildenhall Cycling
Club and the club’s committee feel it is important to do all we can for
that to continue.”
The reunion will take place between 12.30 and 5pm in the West Row Village Hall and will also include a display of club memorabilia. For more details and tickets head to the club website at www.mildenhallcc.org.uk.
