CAVENDISH AND HAMMOND JOIN UP FOR THE MANCHESTER REVOLUTION
Cycling Weekly printed a potentially misleading news story last week about the Future Revolution. There are in fact two separate events: the Future Revolution, which is an event for up-and-coming riders, and the Revolution event for already established riders.
This year?s main Revolution event will feature British riders Roger Hammond and Mark Cavendish, as well as Swedish champion Magnus Backstedt and his fellow Liquigas teammate, Francesco Chicchi. It takes place on October 20 at the Manchester Velodrome.
Other Brits that have signed up to take part are: Craig MacLean, Jamie Staff, Jason Queally, Jason Kenny, Rob Hayles, Chris Newton, Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas. As well as the Brits, members of the American and Spanish teams will be showing off their pedal power.
The Future Revolution, an off?shoot of the main event aimed at up and coming riders, takes place on Saturday October 13 at the Newport Velodrome in Wales. Olympic Kilo Champion Chris Hoy, and top sprint stars Craig MacLean and Ross Edgar will be putting in an appearance to show support for the stars of the future.
Tickets for both events are on sale at www.cyclingrevolution.com or by calling 07005 942579 or 0161 223 2244.
