A suicidal amateur photographer has become an overnight sensation on Twitter after risking life and limb to get a picture of the peloton at Ghent-Wevelgem.

Several riders reacted angrily on Twitter upon seeing the picture, especially as there had been so many crashes in the race. Sky's Ian Stannard was stretchered off after ending up in a ditch, Andre Greipel crashed with 8.5km to go, and many other riders also hit the deck.
