The Virgin Money Cyclone weekend is back for 2014 with a four-day cycling festival for all cycling abilities.
The weekend's activities will climax at this year's headline event, The Beaumont Trophy, for the Elite men, which has this year been granted UCI status and will be one of four UCI events in the UK for 2014. Teams already confirmed include; NFTO, Madison Genesis, Raleigh, Velosure and Rapha Condor-JLT, promising a strong line-up for spectators.
The weekend kicks off on Thursday June 19 with the Tyne Six Bridges Leisure Ride followed by Friday evening's Leazes Criteriums, Saturday's Virgin Money Cyclone Challenge rides and along side the Men’s race on Sunday june 22, the Women’s National series road race Curlew Cup.

Symon Lewis joined Cycling Weekly as an Editorial Assistant in 2010, he went on to become a Tech Writer in 2014 before being promoted to Tech Editor in 2015 before taking on a role managing Video and Tech in 2019. Lewis discovered cycling via Herne Hill Velodrome, where he was renowned for his prolific performances, and spent two years as a coach at the South London velodrome.
