John Degenkolb wrote a message to his Facebook fans reporting that his finger was repaired following the crash, while Tour de France general classification rider Warren Barguil suffered a fractured wrist.
In total, six riders were injured in the incident, which reportedly occurred when a British national drove on the wrong side of the road towards the group of cyclists, hitting them head-on.
Frenchman Barguil, who finished 14th in the 2015 Tour, suffered a fractured scaphoid, which may require surgery.
The image in the above tweet shows the carnage of the incident, with one of the bikes seemingly shorn in half and others having bent wheels.
American rider Chad Haga was reportedly airlifted to hospital, where he underwent successful surgery on his neck and chin, but also suffered an orbital fracture.
Max Walscheid reportedly suffered fractures to the hand and tibia, which will likely require surgery, while both Ramon Sinkeldam and Frederik Ludvigsson both suffered scratches and bruises all over their bodies.
