Team Sky are on the Spanish island of Majorca for a training camp and to take part in the four-race series that comprises the Challenge Mallorca, starting today (Thursday, January 29).

Despite a warmer climate than the team's native Britain, the riders were still wrapped up against the elements for a training ride on Wednesday.

Ben Swift, David Lopez and new recruits Andy Fenn and Elia Viviani donned scarves and warm head gear as they headed out on the island.

All three riders will be part of Sky's team for the Trofeo Santanyí - the opening day of the Challenge Mallorca - along with Ian Boswell, Bernhard Eisel, Christian Knees, Danny Pate and Xabier Zandio.

Nigel Wynn
Former Associate Editor

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
