Videos of the week: riders on the high seas and the world’s angriest cyclist

What's that? You say you've missed the last week in cycling videos? Don't worry, we've got you covered

If you’re looking for cyclists on boats and on-bike camera footage then you’ve come to the right place. If you weren’t, then why not stay a while anyway?

We’ve been clawing around the wonderful world of the web to try and find you the very best videos from the week in cycling. Unfortunately there were none, so we found these instead.

We jest of course (this is literally the best there is). There’s a bit of swearing, some topless cyclists fighting over a rope, and some classic Cav sprinting. What more could you want? So let’s get started.

(PS. If we missed any gems, let us know in the comments section below)

Cannondale-Garmin team building with boats and inspirational quotes

New season, new team, let’s bond on a boat. That was Cannondale-Garmin‘s idea obviously, and they filmed their trip to the British Virgin Islands for you all to see. Between the shots of the team on the boat, there’s a series of motivational speeches and slow motion cycling sequences, as well as a game we can’t imagine cyclists thriving at – tug of war. There’s also a bit of Ryder Hesjedal chatting to the camera, though he looks like he’s just spent a week as a contestant on Survivor.

The dodgy driving/angry cyclist compilation

We’ve all been there; cut-up by some dodgy driving and getting just a little bit (or very) angry. But how many of us have taken the logical next step and put together a video compilation? Well Jeremy Southgate has, and some of you who commute on a regular basis may recognise some these situations. Consistently side-swiped by cars and having to avoid lingering pedestrians, you can understand why he gets a bit furious. But Jeremy has got a bit of a potty mouth on him, so viewers of a nervous dispostion may want to hit the mute button before proceeding.

Classic leadout, classic Cav

They’re not quite Mark Cavendish’s HTC leadout just yet but this finish to stage four of the Dubai Tour was a fine exhibition of setting up a sprint by Etixx – Quick-Step.  They control the situation from start to finish, and end up leaving it looking as though no-one will even get near Cav, who took the stage and with it, the overall win in Dubai.

Caleb Ewan’s Top Gun sprint

If you’re getting bored of on-bike camera footage (how could you?), then take a look at the footage from Caleb Ewan’s (Orica-GreenEdge) bike at the Herald Sun Tour. It’s set to a background of Top Gun sound effects (obviously), owing to the fact Ewan has earned himself the nickname ‘Jet’. What’s more impressive is the Australian sprinter’s navigation of the peloton; weaving between riders before launching his sprint to win his second stage of the race.

Rohan Dennis Hour Record highlights

If you hadn’t noticed, Rohan Dennis (BMC) broke the Hour Record last weekend, and you can catch-up with all the best action in this video package provided by the UCI. *Spoiler alert* highlights include that part where he cycles around the track, then that part where he cycles around the track again, before concluding with him cycling around the track and eventually ceasing to cycle around the track. What’s not to love?
