It’s been five years since Team Sky first graced the roads in the professional tour, and by way of celebration the team has released a video celebrating its success.
Sir David Brailsford announced his vision of winning the Tour de France with a clean, British rider within the first five years – and he did it twice.

Add to that numerous stage and one-day race wins and you get to Team Sky’s 164 total wins in five seasons.
At the end of the video, Sky shows off its stats, including the fact 18 different riders have spent a total 154 days in a leader’s jersey – not bad in just 1,202 race days.
The video also serves as an excellent reminder of Sir Bradley Wiggins’ smooth transition between various hair styles. From the Oasis-style barnet of 2010, through to 2014’s bushy beard via the legendary mutton chops of his 2012 Tour win.
And, as always, it’s nice to see a fleeting homage to a Cycling Weekly story in the opening seconds of the video.
As Team Sky says under the video: “It’s been a great ride so far, and there’s plenty more to come.”
