Fight in the Forest is a new cyclo-sportive in the New Forest, Hampshire, being organised in aid of the LiveStrong Foundation, Lance Armstrong’s cancer awareness initiative.

Two lengths of ride are on offer, both starting and finishing in the picturesque surroundings of the Beaulieu Estate, perhaps best known as the home of the National Motor Museum, on Sunday, April 3 2011.

Riders can choose between a more sedate 25-mile loop or the full-on SRAM 50-mile route, both of which wind their way through some of the New Forest’s best-known scenic spots, including the Ornamental Driveway.

Entry fee is £20 for the 25-mile route, and £25 for the 50-mile route. Entry fees include a donation to LiveStrong. Event registration opens on December 15, 2010.

In addition to the bike rides, there are two trail runs (5km and 10km) and a duathlon (5km run, 40km bike, 5km run). Organisers are hoping for around 5,000 people to participate in the event in total.

I too haven’t heard anything from the team since my eye 13 days ago requesting a refund after the date change.

I also can’t find a phone number anywhere.

Absolutely appalling organisation in my opinion: even if I could ride in October I probably wouldn’t simply due to how this postponement has been handled.

Apart from my obvious disappointment at learning of the postponement from April to October without any really clear reasons being given, I am concerned by the lack of reply from the organisers when I emailed requesting a refund of my entry fee as I will not be able to ride in October due to being abroad at that time.

I hope this is not a re-run of the New Forest Winter Wonderland fiasco of Dec 2009.

Have any other readers had similar problems?

Thank you for such a good site.
