FUNERAL OF FORMER MIDLANDS ACE RAY MINOVI TUESDAY NEXT
THE funeral of Midlands ace Ray Minovi, the former Milk Race rider, will be at Lodge Hill Crematorium, Selly Oak, Birmingham next Tuesday Sept 16th at midday.
Minovi who was 69, died recently after a long illness. He was the editor and Coaching Secretary of the Veteran Leaguer, the newsletter of League of Veteran Racing Cyclists (LVRC).
A top rider in his youth, when he won Star Trophy road races and gained international selection, Minovi was renowned for his stamina and a terrific sprint. His uncompromising and full-on attitude to racing made him a fearless competitor and when he took up veterans racing his compatriots discovered he?d lost none of his ability and he once again became a prolific winner.
A great supporter of the LVRC, he produced an informed and lively newsletter and contributed knowledgeable training articles.
