Groupset manufacturer SRAM has recently announced a voluntary recall on WiFli 10-speed rear derailleurs. After reports of possible safety hazards, SRAM have asked for all models with serial numbers between 31T2000000 – 11T39999999 to be returned.
The manufacturer has expressed worries that the parallelogram on their high-end derailleur can loosen or dislodge, causing the derailleur to jam or interfere with the wheel.
“Given the possible safety concerns, we advise any readers affected to stop using their cycles and return their derailleur to any SRAM dealer for a FREE replacement. “
With an earlier recall being issued for their hydraulic brakes at the start of November, this is the second recall the manufacturer has issued in just one month.
Though SRAM remains one of the market leaders, it does seem that of late they are being forced to live up to their online mission statement: ‘Tweak. Refine. Tweak. Refine’.
