Check out the spec of Dowsett’s TT bike ahead of the World Championship time trial
With a fourth victory in the British time trial championships and the Hour Record already in the bag in 2015, could Alex Dowsett be ready to ride his Canyon Speedmax CF to World Championship victory?
Check out his beautifully fast-looking TT bike that’ll he’s been riding throughout 2015.
Dowsett’s bike is equipped with a Campagnolo EPS groupset and a Power2Max power meter.
He’s running 56 and 44 tooth rings on the front, with shifting controlled by shifters at the ends of the aero extensions and a second set on the brake levers.
The Movistar man is riding Campagnolo Bora wheels with a Continental Podium TT tubular tyre on the rear and a Continental Competition at the front. His pedals are Look Keo Blade 2 carbon, a design which has a streamlined underside due to the bladed spring.
His Canyon has concealed centre-pull brakes: the front hidden away at the trailing edge of the forks.
The rear brakes are also centre-pull and concealed under the bottom bracket, where the bottom bracket structure adds some shielding from the airstream.
Dowsett’s bar extensions have paintmarks on them to ensure that they are set up correctly.
His computer mount needs to hold the computer at 90 degrees to a mount on a normal bar and he has a custom 3-D printed mount to allow the correct orientation.
The bike has an Elite aero bottle and cage attached. with the bottle helping smooth airflow over the down tube and improves the bike’s aerodynamics.
