British Tour de France stage winner Barry Hoban will be at the Bicicelo store in Birmingham on Thursday, July 23, signing copies of his book

Eight-time Tour de France stage winner Barry Hoban will be signing copies of his new autobiography, Vas-y-Barry at Bicicielo in the centre of Birmingham this Thursday evening, July 23, from 5pm until 7pm.
Hoban says that Vas-y-Barry "Is the book I wanted to write after I stopped racing. I wrote an autobiography then, but it just skimmed over my career. This one has all the details, with nothing left out".
The book is only available normally by mail order from www.thepedalpress.uk for £16.95 plus £2.50 p&p, but any copies bought from the Bicicielo book-signing will be at the discount price of £15.
Bicicelo is Britain’s first Pinarello and Assos concept store, and can be found in the centre of Birmingham at 43 Temple Street, B2 5DP; telephone 0121 643 4442.
Stage 18 of the 2015 Tour de France, Gap to Saint-Jean de Maurienne, will be running on the shop’s huge TV screen while Hoban is there, which is apt because Hoban won Britain’s first Tour mountain stage, in the Alps, 47 years ago.
See www.bicicielo.com for more details.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
