Hard to know for sure but what is certain is that these comfortable shoes are light (just 275g for a size 43 shoe) and, thanks to the Boa closure system, easy to adjust and very well vented.

Gaerne say that by making the super-stiff carbon-fibre sole very thin, the rider's foot is closer to the pedal and thus more efficient.
