Fight in the Forest for LiveStrong
Fight in the Forest is a new cyclo-sportive in the New Forest, Hampshire, being organised in aid of the LiveStrong Foundation, Lance Armstrong's cancer awareness initiative.
Two lengths of ride are on offer, both starting and finishing in the picturesque surroundings of the Beaulieu Estate, perhaps best known as the home of the National Motor Museum, on Sunday, April 3 2011.
Riders can choose between a more sedate 25-mile loop or the full-on SRAM 50-mile route, both of which wind their way through some of the New Forest's best-known scenic spots, including the Ornamental Driveway.
Entry fee is £20 for the 25-mile route, and £25 for the 50-mile route. Entry fees include a donation to LiveStrong. Event registration opens on December 15, 2010.
In addition to the bike rides, there are two trail runs (5km and 10km) and a duathlon (5km run, 40km bike, 5km run). Organisers are hoping for around 5,000 people to participate in the event in total.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
