CHANGES TO ZAK CARR MEMORIAL ROUTE
The route being taken as part of a memorial service for Zak Carr on Sunday October 22, has been altered for safety reasons.
The ride will still start at 9am at the car park opposite Mick Madgett?s bike shop in Diss, Norfolk and then go via Zak?s home of Attleborough. However, the route will no longer go to the bridge over the A11 near the accident spot, but will go on a loop after reaching Wymondham through the villages of Wicklewood and Great Ellingham, returning to Attleborough and then back to Diss.
The event marks the year anniversary of Zak Carr, who was killed when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on the A11 in Norfolk last October.
The ride organiser said: ?The support shown is, once again, amazing and it is hoped we will see an excellent turnout. The ride will be controlled by volunteer marshals and will follow the normal safety rules.
Carr was well known for his tandem records and many victories on time trials, road races and on the track. Arguably his most memorable win was when he and his tandem partner Glen Taylor broke the Tandem World Hour record in Manchester three years ago.
