>>> Bib shorts: Buyer’s guide

These really are shorts that are most at home on the very longest of rides. At its thickest the chamois is a pretty bulky 14mm thick and is also fairly wide. This provides a good layer of protection between your backside and saddle, which makes for an exceptionally comfortable pair of shorts for big days out, particularly when riding in a more upright position. The only snag is that this amount of material gets in the way a bit when you go down onto the drops and ride hard.

Aside from this I was impressed by the quality feel of these shorts, especially considering the price point. The bibs are lovely and wide, with a perforated material that complements the CoolTech lycra of the main body of the shorts to keep you cool. I did, however, think the leg grippers could have been more effective.

Good quality mid-range bib shorts that match up well to more expensive competitors.
