Adriano Malori's recovery going well after horror crash

Adriano Malori is recovering well from his horror crash on stage five of the Tour de San Luis, according to a statement released by his Movistar team.

Malori crashed at 65kph about 30km from the finish, suffering head injuries and a broken collarbone in the fall and was placed in a medically-induced coma.

But the Italian national time trial champion, who finished second to Vasil Kiryienka in the world championships last year, is making progress and may be transferred to a hospital in Spain soon.

The statement said: "Movistar Team is pleased to announce that the latest information supplied by the Bueno Aires clinic where Adriano Malori is convalescing indicates that his condition continues to improve.

"All parties are currently studying the most suitable means of transferring Adriano to Pamplona (Spain) in the coming days, for examination by specialist staff at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra."
