The yet-to-be-named man was cycling on the A15 between Elsea Park roundabout and Northorpe, near to Bourne and Thurlby, on Tuesday at 1pm when the accident happened.

The road was closed in both directions and an air ambulance arrived to treat the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the bus was injured, but shocked.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of incident, or who may have seen the cyclist or the blue and cream bus, to contact them on 101. Alternatively, they can call the witness hotline on 01522 558855, referencing incident 172 of November 8.

Last week, Italian prince Filippo Corsini was the eight cyclist this year to die on London’s roads, when he collided with a lorry.
