Three cyclocross racers, all at different stages of the sport, from starting out to elite level. Kona’s new ‘Growing up cross’ video follows Great Britain’s elite cross racer Helen Wyman as she embarks on the CrossVegas race in the US, as well as nine-year-old Isabella Myers and 14-year-old Ciara McDonald, who are both heading to races in the northwest of the US with their team Rad Racing.
Eight time British cyclocross champion Wyman is shown in the video walking through one of the sprawling casinos of Las Vegas with her bike, where she was attending one of the cross season’s early races, CrossVegas, back at the beginning of September.

The race consisted of five laps of a 3.3km circuit, however 33-year-old Wyman failed to finish.
The video also focuses on two riders at the start of their cross racing lives, with younger Isabella Myers saying “all I want to do is finish”, while the slightly more experienced Ciara McDonald says she’s “actually going to shift” should her race come down to a sprint.
Both the young riders put up podium finishes in their races, riding on their Jake 24 and Jake the Snake Kona cyclocross bikes, while Wyman is riding her first race of the season on a Kona Super Jake with deep-section Zipp wheels.
