Alex Dowsett named in Movistar's World Championships TTT squad
Alex Dowsett forms part of a strong Movistar squad for the UCI team time trial World Championships on Sunday
Alex Dowsett will prepare for his tilt at the time trial title at the UCI road World Championships next week by forming part of a strong Movistar squad for the team time trial championships on Sunday.
Movistar finished third in 2015 behind perennial title contenders BMC and Etixx-Quick Step and hope to make the step up on the podium in Doha, Qatar, this weekend.
Dowsett joins Andrey Amador, two-time Spanish TT champion Jonathan Castroviejo, Portuguese TT champion Nelson Oliveira, Imanol Erviti and Jasha Sutterlin, who finished third in the Eneco Tour TT.
Dowsett will be one of two riders who will compete for Great Britain in the men's individual time trial next Wednesday, which takes place on the same 40km route as the team time trial.
Starting at the Lusail Sports Complex and heads down towards downtown Doha and finishes on the man-made Pearl Qatar island.
