With the widest foot platform on test, the SPD LS, when pedalling, feels really stable.
They are the easiest pedal to get in and out of, but the three-hole bolt system cleat is noticeably larger.
On the plus side, it makes tottering about off the bike a more stable affair.
A stainless-steel plate where you clip in and out should give the pedal plenty of durability, but this does help add the weight up to 324g.
This pedal feels really solid and, with its classy polished alloy body, you get the impression that the 105 SPD has been designed and constructed to last. A solid performer.
