Cyclist arrested after death of Danish woman

Police on Friday morning arrested a  27-year-old cyclist on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter following the death of a Danish woman who was knocked down by a bicycle while crossing a busy London junction.

Marian Anderson, 56, from Denmark, collided with a bicycle on a traffic light crossing at the junction of Lidlington Place and Eversholt Street just after 10am on Sunday ,  February 21.

  Anderson was taken by ambulance to University College Hospital, in Euston, and then transferred to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, in Bloomsbury. She died there  on March 1.

A police collision investigation unit is preparing an accident reconstruction report.

A post-mortem  gave the cause of death as head injuries. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
