Specialized-Lululemon take third team time trial title
Specialized-Lululemon run out clear winners in the women's team time trial as the UCI road world championships get underway in Ponferrada, Spain.
The American Specialized-Lululemon team took their third team time trial world title in Ponferrada today. Despite a training crash the day before in which several of their riders hit the deck, the team put one minute 17 seconds in to second placed Orica-AIS.
Marianne Vos was dropped by her team mates before they suffered a horrible crash on one of the final bends.
The team time trial is not one of Vos's preferred disciplines so the Dutchwoman remains the favourite for the women's road race next weekend.
Britain's Lizzie Armitstead lead her Boels-Dolmans team mates over the line for fifth place, two minutes 26 seconds behind Specialized.
