DESCRIPTION
This individual stage against the clock starts and finishes in Albi, the capital of the Tarn department. This is a time trial for hard cases, featuring the fourth-category climb of Cote de la Bauzie - a 3.5km grind - appearing at 35km in.
Clever pacing is absolutely essential, and the first 20km will be crucial. Can Michael Rasmussen avoid any time trial disasters and retain his overall lead? This stage is likely to have a profound effect on the general classification.
