New pictures of Lee Valley VeloPark released
London's Olympic cycling legacy venue nearing completion ahead of March opening date
With its official opening in March fast approaching, new pictures of the Lee Valley VeloPark have been released.
The site, which houses the London 2012 Velodrome and BMX track, a 1.6-kilometre traffic-free road circuit and numerous mountain bike trails, is nearing completion after months of additional building work and modification following the Olympics.
Online booking for those wishing to use the venue opened last week, with tickets for the Revolution track series finale in the Velodrome on March 14-15 all-but sold out.
Shaun Dawson, Chief Executive of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority said: “The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games inspired a new generation of cycling enthusiasts. Lee Valley VeloPark will build on the legacy of the Games and will give the public a unique chance to cycle at the same venue as the world’s best athletes.
“With bookings open, it has brought all the hard work since 2012 to life. It’s an exciting time for everyone involved with Lee Valley VeloPark, and we will offer visitors an incredible and memorable experience.”
