Northwave Evolution TP X-Lite jacket review

Northwave Evolution TP X-Lite Jacket
Cycling Weekly Verdict

It's too warm to wear a pocketed jersey underneath - a tiny zip pull doesn't help either, being awkward to use with winter gloves.

Despite being quite thin, the Northwave jacket was plenty warm enough for the most Baltic conditions.

The softshell style X-Lite fabric prevented any wind penetration but never felt overly clammy and when wearing a decent base layer, there were no internal moisture issues.

Only the armpits are of anything but the X-Lite fabric and the effect on cooling was noticeable on longer descents. The only major complaint (that can be levelled at a number of jackets in the test) is the pocket design.

With only one large pocket, you need to limit what you can carry if you want to ever find anything or gain quick access.
