TV celebs help raise importance of volunteering in sport

Emmerdale and Coronation Street casts team up for a 60-mile bike ride to help raise awareness of the importance of volunteering in sport.

Part of the ITV Local Heroes campaign, which aims to encourage people to volunteer with their local sports clubs and groups, saw cast members from Corrie and Emmerdale, supported by volunteers form London 2012 Legacy charity Join in, complete in a 60-mile bike ride.

Called the Tour de ITV, the ride starts from the Rovers Return in Coronation Street, over the Pennines and up to the Woolpack in Emmerdale.
