Adam Hansen enjoys his traditional Alpe d'Huez beer

Adam Hansen grabs a beer on Alpe d'Huez

When you've raced all three Grand Tours in each of the last four seasons you're entitled to a little bit of fun and Lotto-Soudal's Adam Hansen indulged in one of his favourite traditions on stage 20 of the Tour de France.

With his job done for the day, Hansen spun his way up Alpe d'Huez and shared a beer with the fans on Dutch corner.

There's no denying that Hansen deserves a swift half after the Tour de France he's endured - he dislocated his shoulder in the first week and rode with pain through much of the other two.

On stage 16 he got himself out in a breakaway and tried his hand at a solo attack in the final 45km, but he couldn't hang on for his first Tour de France win.

And with the Tour drawing to a close, Hansen saved a little energy on Alpe d'Huez ahead of leading Andre Greipel out on the Champs-Elysees on stage 21.

In 2013 Hansen was filmed by a fan on Dutch Corner of the famous Alpe climb chugging a beer, while at the Tour of Turkey in 2014 he swapped a water bottle for a can of lager, much to the delight of the fans.
