Lee Valley Velopark will host the 2016 edition of the Good Friday Meeting on March 25, the annual festival of track cycling that has run since 1903.
The event carries a full programme of track events, and has over the years attracted some of the biggest names in track cycling from Britain and abroad.
Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Jody Cundy, Andy Tennant, Florian Rousseau, Arnaud Tournant, Robert Forstemann, Graeme Obree and Ed Clancy have all taken part in the event that used to be hosted in the outdoor Herne Hill Velodrome.

The indoor venue of the 2012 Olympic velodrome in Lee Valley Velopark ensures the event goes ahead without being affected by the changeable British spring weather.
The velodrome will also host the 2016 UCI Track World Championships over March 2-16.
The first tickets for the 2016 Good Friday Meeting go on sale from Wednesday (January 13). The top-level tickets enable fans to meet the riders in an exclusive meet-and-greet area.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, n exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
