Alexandre Geniez wins Vuelta a España stage three as Alberto Contador loses time

Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) won the first summit finish of the Vuelta a España on stage three to Mirador de Ézaro, as Alberto Contador (Tinkoff) lost time on the main GC contenders.

Frenchman Geniez had been part of a seven-man breakaway on the third day of racing, which saw the peloton take on two categories climbs en route to the brutal hill-top finish.
