The HC ascents begin with the Col de la Croix de Fer (24km at 5.2%), followed by the Col du Télégraphe, before the peloton tackles the legendary Col du Galibier (17.7km at 6.9%) and the Col de Sarenne (12.8km at 7.3%).
Behind Pogačar and Evenepoel, Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates XRG) and French hope Paul Seixas (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team) are battling it out for the third step on the podium, while Richard Carapaz leads the King of the Mountains standings. Lidl-Trek's Mads Pedersen holds a commanding lead in the points classification.
