Irish time trial champion Ryan Mullen is set to sign for Cannondale-Garmin, Cycling Weekly understands.
The 20-year-old, who missed out on winning the World under-23 time trial title in Ponferrada by just 0.48 seconds last year, is likely to become a stagiare from August, before signing a two-year permanent contract from January 2016.

Mullen has spent the last two seasons with the Irish AnPost-Chain Reaction team. CW today contacted Cannondale and AnPost for comment, but has yet to receive a reply.
Team Sky were reportedly also interested in the former IG-Sigma Sport rider. Sir Dave Brailsford last year said of Mullen: “He has a very bright career ahead of him, he’s already a world class time trialist.
“He’ll go on to a very rosy career at the higher level of sport, I’m sure.”
Mullen placed third in this year’s AnPost Ras stage race, and won the Irish road race title in 2014.
