Soft launched to the team last summer, the Focus Izalco Max is very much an evolution of the old design. It looks set to build upon strengths and reinforce weaknesses in the usual, if somewhat predictable, way of making the end result both stiffer and lighter. But it’s also one of the few brands smart enough to realise that comfort is worth giving due consideration. Now that Fizik has officially released Cyrano, Ag2r is using the Italian’s bars, stems and seatposts. We say the whole combination gives a really classy look to the team machines.

- Front end looks dated next to latest aero bikes Left: BB is both lighter and stiffer for 2014, naturally
- Fizik finishing kit oozes class
