Rapha has launched its 2014 Team Sky Clothing Collection, which includes the ‘pro’ range that is identical to the kit that Chris Froome, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and friends will wear this season.
Now in its second year of producing Sky’s team kit, Rapha has again utilised a tiered system of Sky clothing to suit various requirements and depth of pocket.
The top-level ‘Pro’ range is identical in every way to the clothing that is issued to the squad. This includes a new Mesh jersey (£140), a gilet (£TBC) and two new gloves designs (£50-£70). “The design philosophy is ‘robust simplicity’: streamlined, lightweight, durable and unfailingly fit for purpose,” says Rapha of the Pro range.
The Pro team bib shorts will retail at £190, whilst the jersey is available in black or blue colourways. Socks are £15.
The second-tier ‘Replica’ line of clothing looks very similar to the professional kit, as you would expect, but uses more cost-effective fabrics whilst still retaining a “high level of performance and comfort”.
The replica jersey costs £75, bib shorts £100 and kid’s replica jersey £50. The range will also include newly-designed women’s bib-shorts (£TBC) and jersey (£75), which will be available in the summer. There’s also the option of having your name printed on the jersey.
‘Supporter’ clothing is for non-riding, and includes items such as Sky-branded musette (£15), T-shirts (£30), Merino scarf (£40), essentials case (£45), flags (£20), hooded tops (£TBC) and jeans (£TBC).
