Should you be tending to a mechanical at the side of the road or have fallen off your bike, it’s not uncommon for a passing cyclist to pull over and offer to assist you.
And that is exactly what happened in Colchester on October 26. A cyclist was riding along Mill Road in the Essex town at around 8am when he saw another cyclist who had fallen off their bike.

The passing cyclist stopped to help the other rider, but the fallen cyclist took objection to the assistance and allegedly assaulted the helper by striking him with his bike.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “A man came to the aid of a fellow cyclist who had fallen off his bike only to be assaulted and struck with the suspect’s bike.”
