World and Olympic champion across a variety of cycling disciplines, Marianne Vos is widely regarded as one of the greatest cyclists of all time. The Dutch woman had a quiet start to 2014 but was straight back in the action at the women’s Fleche Wallonne in April. Although she lined up as a four time winner, this year she opted to ride for her team mate Pauline Ferrand-Prevot who went on to win.
Vos is the current Olympic champion in the road race, having previously won gold on the track at Beijing in the points race, and also the road race world champion. Vos has also won the cyclo cross world title and every major race on the women’s calendar.
Major results: 2012 Olympic road race | 2013 world championship road race
