We look back at the week in cycling, both professional and everyday riding

We’re well and truly into the professional cycling season now, with some semi-Classics already behind us and both Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico in full swing.

For British fans, Paris-Nice became a lot more exciting when Team Sky’s Richie Porte and Geraint Thomas dominated the summit finish on stage four to finish first and second on the stage and move to second and third on GC (respectively).

Over at Tirreno-Adriatico, a crash in the bunch was blamed on a slipped chain, which caused Mark Cavendish’s rear wheel to skip out unexpectedly and take down Elia Viviani.

The publication of the CIRC report brought many headlines and showed that there may still be a long way to go in fully cleaning up cycling. Whilst away from the professional peloton, this week saw a four year old’s cycling draw the attention of the police, but do you know what for?

As always, you needn’t be a member of Mensa to excel in our cycling quiz but it should get a few brains ticking on a Friday afternoon.
