Downing and Dowsett join London Nocturne line-up

British Sky pros Russell Downing and Alex Dowsett are the latest star riders to be added to the start list of this year's IG Markets London Nocturne, taking place on Saturday June 11.

Downing is 'fresh' from completing his first Grand Tour, having ridden through this year's tough Giro d'Italia last month. Far from making up the numbers, Downing got himself into a successful breakaway on stage 18, eventually finishing eighth on the stage.

Commonwealth Games time trial silver medallist Dowsett will accompany Downing on Team Sky. They join fellow Worldtour riders Cameron Meyer and Matt Wilson from Garmin-Cervelo and Matt Brammeier and Leigh Howard from HTC-Highroad in the elite men's criterium race.

Downing will race against his brother Dean and his Rapha Condor Sharp squad at the event. Rapha Condor Sharp are the domestic team to beat in the criterium, having dominated the 2011 Tour Series so far with three wins in three rounds.

The IG Markets London Nocturne takes place around Smithfield Market in the capital on Saturday, June 11.
