Having unveiled their new bikes last week, Team Sky will release a newly redesigned Rapha kit on Friday. And from the looks of a teaser that Chris Froome posted on Instagram this morning, it could be a bit of a departure from what we’ve seen in previous years.

In the photo, Froome shows the side of the jersey, with the 21st Century Fox logo down his flank, and Froomey written across the sleeve. So far so similar. But what has changed is what seems to be a white stripe going across the front of the jersey, with a departure from the blue or plain black of the jersey in previous years
However, there should still be some blue in the design, with Team Sky posting photos showing what looks like a blue band on the sleeves, as seen on the jersey from last season, as well as continuation of the vented panels that caused such outcry when Froome posed in the team’s skinsuit back in 2014.
The good news is that this could be the first of a number of sneak previews over the coming days, with the team using the hashtag #PrepareExecute to build anticipation to the official launch at the end of the week.
This will be the final Rapha kit that Team Sky will use, with the partnership between the two coming to an end at the conclusion of the 2016 season. However Rapha will continue to be involved in professional cycling, supplying clothing to the Canyon-SRAM women’s team.
