The Lloyds National Road Championships will be held in Ceredigion, Wales for the second year running this June.

The event will take place between 25-28 June, with the time trials, circuit races and road races all held in the west Wales county.

The announcement comes as part of a three-year agreement between British Cycling and the Welsh government to stage the championships, meaning next year’s event, 2027, will also be held in Wales.

“Ceredigion provides the perfect stage for what promises to be another captivating National Championships bringing together the best of British talent,” said Jonathan Day, director of events at British Cycling Ventures, in a statement.

Wales will also host the third stage of the UK Tour de France Grand Départ in 2027, which will run from Welshpool to Cardiff on 4 July.

Jack Sargeant, the Welsh Minister for Sport, said Wales is becoming a “top destination for world-class cycling”

“The return of the Lloyds National Road Championships to Ceredigion is further proof of that,” he said in a statement.

“From the streets of Aberystwyth to the mountains at the heart of the south Wales valleys that’ll form part of the Tour de France Grand Départ route, we are determined that every part of Wales has the opportunity to share in the passion and economic benefits that major cycling events bring.”
