Cycling Weekly Verdict

A really good looking bike with super comfortable bars. A fast way to cover a wide variety of terrain with its sure footed handling traits. Limited room on the bars might be a problem for some, but a bit of thought should overcome some of these limitations. Thoroughly enjoyable to ride.

The Vitus Venon Evo is an all-road frameset that aims to blur the line between the best endurance road bikes and the best gravel bikes. It can accommodate tire widths from 28mm up to 45mm depending on the discipline that you want to ride. The Evo-GR comes with gravel specific groupsets, with the upper models in the range using aero components too, to keep it fast on those open gravel routes.

The gravel bike niche has found itself split into two, with the bikepacking side and the riders who want to cover ground quickly in a single day.

Over 40 years cycling in a variety of disciplines including road riding, commuting, a self-supported Land's End to John o' Groats trip, XC mountain biking and several Polaris Challenge two-day events. Adventure, escape and fun are the motivations for my riding. I also love bike and kit design and have fillet brazed a couple of framesets using Reynolds 853 steel tubing for myself. A very satisfying experience to ride your own bespoke bike!
