The National Road Race Championship heads to Lincoln this June and you have the chance to ride many of the roads taken in by the professionals in the Championship Sportive.
Taking place the day before the National Championships, the sportive offers a choice of four distances – 97, 76, 58 or 38 miles – all starting and finishing in Lincoln.

And any ride in the historic city would not be complete without an ascent of the Michaelgate cobbled climb, which tops out at an arduous 17 per cent. Luckily, all four routes take in this climb, giving riders the opportunity to challenge themselves on the climb that will test the elite riders the following day.
Organisers say the 58-mile route takes in less climbing than the longer routes and is ideal for those riders wanting to complete their first sportive. The 30-mile route, meanwhile, is almost completely flat, except for the Michaelgate climb, of course.
To give the sportive its Championship touch, the organisers hope spectators will line Michaelgate to cheer the riders up the hill, and you can type a few words about yourself for the announcer to read out as you cross the finish line near the cathedral.
