Gaerne G. Futura review

Gaerne G. Futura
Cycling Weekly Verdict

Lighter than the most expensive shoes and less costly than the lightest, Gaerne has proved that less can actually be more.

    Not much

The least expensive shoe on test, but by no means the poor relation, the G. Futura in its light reflective ‘Reflex' finish was initially something of an eye-catching novelty.

Aside from the option of black, white or the Reflex's unusually stylish nod towards safety, Gaerne's mid-range road shoe keeps things simple, practical and comfortable.

Wider feet may want to go up half a size, but with strong Velcro straps and a quality ratchet that offers a broad range of adjustment, getting a secure fit is easy, further helped by a relatively deep heel cup with generous ankle support.
